COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Three strong-legged kickers and a fast-improving long-snapper were identified in the Ray Guy Prokicker.com talent search at a camp here this week.

Taylor King, a rising senior, went 8-for-10 on field goal charting and connected on a 68-yard kickoff to impress the staff, said Prokicker.com’s Logan O’Connor.

“He went out and charted well,” O’Connor said. “The majority of his kickoffs were in the end zone. That’s promising for him going into his senior season.”

Nick Lucernoni, a rising junior, showed promise, O’Connor said.

“He’s got a strong leg and made good ball contact,” O’Connor said.

Lucernoni made 9-of-10 field goals and had “one of the stronger legs in camp,” O’Connor said. “His kickoffs were just inside the end zone the majority of the team. You see a lot of (rising) seniors not hitting at the accuracy he did. He’s got the tools, he just needs the drills to harness that power.”

King and Lucernoni were also considered “very coachable,” O’Connor said.

Another kicker who shined as Jesse Holzmer, a rising senior who had the longest field goal at 50 yards and punched one kickoff 68 yards with a 3.45 hang time.

Long-snapper Austen Sis wasn’t the best on the charts but showed as much or more improvement than any other center in camp, said staff coach Jacob Claycomb.

“He had the biggest change from day one to day two,” Claycomb said. “The changes he made were unbelievable.”

Sis accepted the staff’s suggestions willingly and worked to become better in the two-day camp. The hard work showed.

“He was throwing a tight spiral that was easy to catch,” Claycomb said. “He’s a really coachable kid. I liked him a lot.”
